At Aula, we are building a conversational platform for education. Think Slack for education: consumer tech on the front-end yet complex infrastructure on the back-end. We have built Aula because we believe digital infrastructure should encourage community and participation-based learning.

We are looking to hire curious and inventive engineers ready to join our international team (Albania, Sweden, Pakistan, UK) and work with a stack entirely composed of JS (NodeJS, React, React Native).

We build features and ship them quickly across all our supported apps and devices, so you will be tackling diverse and interesting challenges daily such as:

• Building backend micro-services

• Working directly with Adrian, CPO and designer, to build, maintain and improve slick user interfaces across devices.

• Switching between different apps and devices (web, desktop, iOS, Android).

• Improving and maintaining our distributed architecture.

• Micro-service backends with NodeJS and AWS

• Mongo, Redis and others dbs

The most important thing we look for is a curious and passionate personality. You can work from where you live, from the coffee shop, or with our team in our London office. We set technical and product goals together for the upcoming days/weeks and work together to achieve them. There are no specific working hours, but everyone is available throughout the day. There are relaxed periods in the year but generally, speed is essential to ship great products and we tend to work very hard when needed – we hope that excites you!
