HLK, a full-service digital agency with offices in St. Louis and Denver, is looking for a Front-End Developer in their St. Louis office responsible for building interactive websites, social media applications and responsive/mobile websites; someone with a passion for code, a desire to learn new technologies, and to share what you learn with others. You will work with other front-end and back-end developers, strategists and designers across the agency. The successful candidate will have a passion for digital advertising and an insatiable desire to learn and explore emerging trends as well as align with our core values: Be Curious, Be Thoughtful and Be Brave.
Ideally, you will have a strong understanding of design fundamentals, user experience best practices, and typography –and a passion for putting those ideas to work on the screen. Projects will range from the transactional (targeted email marketing campaigns and conversion-oriented landing pages) to the communicative (brand websites and content-focused web publications) to the playful (immersive web experiences with animation and interactive narrative elements) and everything in-between. The ability to work in a team is a must and familiarity with agile development methods is a plus.
Areas of Competence and Understanding:
Work with strategists, designers and developers to build responsive websites, web applications, and social media tools
Integrate content and markup into publishing platforms including Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, and Sharepoint
Provide input on emerging technologies
Perform cross-browser testing and assist with QA
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong understanding of responsive web design principles and patterns
Strong working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript (jQuery or Vanilla JS)
In-depth understanding of how websites and applications communicate with each other via JSON, XML, AJAX, etc
Experience connecting websites and social networks, including Facebook and Twitter
Comfortable working with Photoshop
Experience with HTML5 animation
Familiarity with HTML5 video and audio
Ability to shift between multiple projects and technologies quickly
