About the Position:

EFL is seeking a JavaScript guru that can work closely with our product design team to implement next generation gamified exercises and UX components for base of the pyramid end-users in emerging markets. EFL works with end-users that could be farmers in rural Mexico or shopkeepers in Nairobi – we provide an application interface online and on Android for people that lack access to traditional credit. This position will own the direction and implementation of this extraordinary UX challenge – how to implement an interface that is beautiful, easy to understand, intuitive, works online and on a mobile device, and doesn’t require a lot of bandwidth. We’re seeking the right person to help us solve that challenge. This may require getting into the field and seeing how people use EFL every day around the world.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Chart the course for EFL technology in front-end technologies as we build up our capabilities

• Develop and implement highly innovative front-end UX designs that work across a variety of cultures and education levels

• Work closely with EFL product designers and field researchers to iteratively test new gamified exercise concepts

• Write high-quality front-end code with an emphasis on test-driven development

• Prepare estimates on feature scope and delivery with our product team
