With the rise of genome editing technologies like CRISPR, the world now needs CAD-like tools to manipulate organisms like yeast to solve problems such as sustainable production of chemicals for use in human health, nutrition, and energy. We are seeking a talented front-end developer with affinity for academic research in life sciences to work on interactive visual exploration modules for biological data. Our team works on the cutting edge technology stack. You will be working closely with some of the most reputable scientists in life science research in the scope of DD-DeCaF, a Horizon 2020 European research project (http://dd-decaf.eu), and help build tools to design cell factories and engineered microbial communities.
Key responsibilities
- Work with life scientists and designers to help transcend the current limitations in metabolic engineering modeling
- Write well-structured and tested code
- Implement beautiful layouts in TypeScript and HTML5
- Build tools that are intuitive and delightful to use and bring change to the scientific and everyday world
