We are looking for a contractor to build out the base of our recommendations platform on a project basis.

Required Skills

• 4 to 5 years experience building web applications
• 1 to 2 years experience working on highly scale web applications
• Ability to respect project deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong knowledge of standards-based web development and cross-platform compatibility
• Experience developing responsive websites
• Ability to write well-structured/architected code in Nodejs
• Ability to solve complex problems
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, Zepto, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of OOP and JavaScript MVC concepts
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Nodejs
• HTML 5
• LESS or SASS
• Express (or other Nodejs framework)
• Handlebars (or other HTML templating systems)
• MongoDB (or other NoSQL databases)
• RabbitMQ/AMQP (or other message routing systems)
• Redis (or other caching systems)
• Gulp or Grunt (or other build systems)
• Mocha or Karma (other unit testing systems)
• Experience working with Linux environments
• Experience working with social APIs (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript memory optimization techniques
• Experience in design of scalable web applications
• Experience with API caching
• Experience with request routing systems such as Express
• Experience with CI systems such as TravisCI or Jenkins
• Understanding of distributed systems
• Experience with SEO
