To help realize our mission, Invitae is looking for an Events Manager who will play a key role on the Creative & Marketing team. The Events Manager will collaborate closely with marketing managers across our businesses, external vendors/agencies, medical affairs, and our sales team. You will be the central hub for trades show and event planning to ensure Invitae’s presence provides an optimal experience for promoting our key businesses and platforms.

  • Develop and execute events strategy across strategic business units to support commercial objectives, working closely with marketing & sales to achieve business goals

  • Responsible for events strategy, planning and coordination/management of all event logistics as well as ROI analysis and reporting

  • Create, manage and track event budgets including reconciling expenses, analyzing event metrics, determining marketing ROI and producing analysis reports

  • Create and manage project plans/timelines and execute events flawlessly and within budget

  • Manage and oversee event logistics in conjunction with external vendors for site selection, reserving booth space, managing hotel block reservations, coordinating demo equipment, shipping to/from event, communicating event details to relevant customers

  • Work closely with internal and external partners to handle booth layout designs, exhibition graphics production and show services, coordinate promotional material needs, as well as coordinate onsite logistics such as booth setup and dismantling.

  • Develop processes to select and prioritize events, drive efficiency, and ensure collaboration and communication across customer groups.

  • Maintain event archives including general event information, contracts, budgets, feedback, photos, collateral and promotional materials.

  • Negotiate pricing with conference organizers, sites and agencies.

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience as an event manager; global experience preferred

  • BA or BS degree in marketing or related field

  • Can travel up to 20%

  • Experienced working with external agencies and vendors required

  • Strong background in project management; you manage your own time effectively to ensure on-time delivery of your work with great attention to detail and organization

  • Proficient in G-Suite and project management tools such as Asana, JIRA

  • A customer service attitude and proficiency in oral and written communication skills; able to articulate ideas and receive constructive feedback.

  • Preferred but not required: Experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or biotech

  • You embody curiosity, humility, and interest in building something new

  • You have the ability to say: I don’t know but am excited to figure it out/try!
