**Why We’re Hiring**
We are hiring a Vice President, Events & Experiences to manage, execute, and grow Complex’s flagship events, experiential retail, and cultural activations. This role ensures the delivery of exceptional live experiences that strengthen audience engagement, brand impact, and revenue, while maintaining operational excellence across all experiential platforms.
**What You’ll Do**
– Oversee the strategy, development, and execution of Complex’s flagship experiential properties, including ComplexCon, Family Style, Complex Market, Verzuz, Complex pop-ups at flagship stores, and major tentpole events.
– Lead the company’s live events and experiential initiatives end to end, covering event planning and execution, production, vendor management, and operational logistics for all events, retail activations, and pop-up experiences.
– Manage the core internal Events & Experiences team (13+), spanning production, partnerships, and operations, while collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, Editorial, Comms, Commerce, Legal, and Finance.
– Turn cultural trends across music, fashion, food, and entertainment into compelling experiences that elevate brand visibility.
– Own the portfolio P&L across events and experiences, managing budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
– Represent the company with talent, brands, partners, sponsors, and collaborators.
– Ensure each property grows in scale, cultural relevance, and profitability, and is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standard.
– Oversee experiential programming across Complex Flagship Stores in LA and NY, and develop pop-up activations connected to cultural tentpoles and key brand moments.
– Partner with executive leadership to align experiential initiatives with company growth and brand strategy.
– Connect retail, commerce, and community engagement to physical experiences in line with the company’s KPIs.
– Drive experiential revenue and profitability through ticketing, sponsorships/branded integrations, and merchandise.
– Work with brand partnerships strategy and sales teams to identify and develop sponsorship opportunities across events and activations.
– Support client pitches and integrated experiential programming.
– Increase event attendance and deepen audience engagement.
– Grow the brand through new markets, events, and activations.
– Find opportunities to expand existing events into new markets and formats, and lead the development of new experiential concepts and intellectual property.
**Who You Are**
– 10+ years of experience leading large-scale live events and production, especially consumer-facing festivals, conventions, experiential marketing activations, and corporate events.
– Demonstrated success managing teams and multi-million-dollar budgets, including event P&Ls.
– Strong leadership, operational, and management capabilities.
– Deep understanding of culture across music, fashion, food, entertainment—and the brands and consumers Complex serves.
– Strong network of vendors across the event production ecosystem.
**Pay**
$230,000 – $250,000 per year. The pay range includes salary and commission; actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, performance, and other factors. This range is only one part of Complex’s Total Rewards package.
