Hello, we’re Instrumentl.
We’re a mission‑focused startup supporting nonprofits in creating meaningful impact, and we’re rapidly becoming the top‑rated platform for grant discovery and management. To help us reach that goal, we’re looking for a curious and driven Events & Community Manager to partner with our Growth team and scale key initiatives across our go‑to‑market efforts.
If you enjoy designing events, connecting people with great learning opportunities, experimenting with new ideas, and creating social impact through tech, this role is for you.
About us:
Instrumentl is a fast‑growing, YC‑backed company serving more than 4,000 nonprofits—from local shelters to large institutions like the San Diego Zoo and the University of Alaska. Our platform is building the future of fundraising automation, helping nonprofits find, track, and manage grants more efficiently.
Our growth is strong and consistent—we’re cash‑flow positive, doubling annually, and our customers love us (NPS 65+ and Ellis PMF 60+). Come join our accelerating journey.
About the role:
As an Events & Community Manager, you’ll plan, organize, and run educational events while also leading community engagement programs. Your work will focus on generating demand through impactful experiences and nurturing a vibrant, engaged community.
Because we’re a startup, you’ll have opportunities to contribute across the company, shape the long‑term direction of your role, and take full ownership of the events calendar. You’ll also have freedom to propose new event formats and community‑building ideas.
We’re looking for someone who thinks strategically, excels at fostering community, and continuously looks for ways to optimize and evolve processes.
You’ll join a small, highly autonomous team and report directly to Will, our Head of Growth. Learn more about us at https://www.instrumentl.com/about.
Instrumentl is fully remote, though you’re welcome to work from our Oakland office. For this role, we are seeking someone based in the continental US, ideally comfortable with Eastern or Central Time working hours.

• Lead and expand a growing grant workshop series attended by thousands of nonprofits
• Conceptualize and coordinate virtual summits, conferences, workshops, seminars, and networking events
• Plan and test in‑person events in major metros to help nonprofits and grant professionals connect
• Create and execute marketing strategies to promote events, including collateral creation, social promotions, partner coordination, and additional channels
• Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, influencers, community leaders, and nonprofit partners
• Grow our community through initiatives, programs, and activities that foster engagement and collaboration
• Recruit and onboard new affiliates to our partner program
• Work with the Growth team to test ideas and validate new opportunities
What we’re looking for:
• 2+ years of full‑time experience in Growth, Sales, Customer Success, or Marketing, ideally at a SaaS company
• Experience hosting large‑scale online educational events
• Experience planning and executing in‑person events in major cities
• Strong business judgment and the ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data
• Excellent analytical skills and mastery of tools like Google Analytics, Data Studio, Heap, and Excel
• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong execution, reliability, and organization—you consistently meet deadlines
• Resourcefulness and the ability to solve new challenges with general guidance
• Comfort with tools like G Suite, Zoom, Slack, Close.com, and Canva, plus a love of shortcuts
• A growth mindset and openness to feedback
• A friendly, approachable personality
• Bonus: experience in early‑stage startups
• Bonus: experience in the nonprofit sector or with grants
Compensation and benefits:
• Salary informed by market data, plus equity, benefits, and perks
• US salary range: $50,000–$75,000 annually + equity (based on location, experience, and qualifications)
• Fully covered health, dental, and vision for employees; 50% coverage for dependents
• Generous PTO, including parental leave
• 401(k)
• Company laptop and home office stipend
