What You’ll Do
Location: Remote from the United States. Reports to: Manager, Data Solutions Engineering.
Work as part of the Software Services Team.
Represent Axon’s technical expertise to an agency at every stage of software implementation.
Capture an agency’s technical requirements and make the right technical decisions to achieve the outcomes the agency expects.
Create customer-specific ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) integration pipelines to move Digital Evidence and data from agencies’ legacy systems into the Axon SaaS platform.
Document agency system-level requirements (such as metadata mapping, network and hardware specifications, end-to-end data flows, system capacity, performance, recoverability, and more).
Evaluate the impact and feasibility of proposed solutions—including integration into the agency environment and lifecycle management—by assessing alternatives and delivering solutions that meet agency goals.
What You Bring
A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or quantitative field, OR completion of a coding boot camp OR 2+ years of relevant experience in a related field.
Experience writing complex queries, statements, data definitions, and performing data modeling and normalization using SQL.
Experience building backend solutions using languages such as Python, SQL, Node.js, Java, TypeScript, or Bash.
Knowledge of enterprise-level technical and systems-based solutions.
Ability to make difficult tradeoff decisions.
Leadership experience through campus and/or community involvement.
A self-starter who enjoys solving problems and working with ambiguity.
Experience with Azure Databricks and/or Azure Data Pipelines is a plus.
Must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check and maintain CJIS clearance. Handle confidential and highly sensitive information.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation includes base pay, bonuses, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role ranges from USD 63,000 in the lowest geographic market to USD 113,000 in the highest geographic market. Your actual base pay depends on many factors, such as level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of these factors.
