We own and operate four e-commerce leasing businesses, and we’re hiring an Engineering Manager to focus specifically on DirectBuy. DirectBuy is a savings club that guarantees the best prices on nearly everything for your home and lifestyle.

Members of DirectBuy are able to eliminate retail markups by buying direct from hundreds of top brands in categories such as flooring, appliances, furniture, and more.

As the Engineering Manager, you will manage DirectBuy’s 15-person engineering team while still being a hands-on contributor.

Your Responsibilities:

• As the manager of our 7-person engineering team, you will play a key role in building DirectBuy – a member’s-only consumer buying service.

• We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager with experience in Angular/Node, Python, and Linux. And of course you will be expected to commit code on your first day.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Full-stack engineer with 4+ years of production experience with a strong foundation in Computer Science. BS in CS or EE preferred, but is obviously not necessary if your Github and Open Source contributions speak for themselves.

• Experience in JavaScript/Angular/Node +Python/Django + Linux preferred.

• Extremely detail-oriented.

• Has an appreciation for performance tradeoffs and technical debt.

• Has zero tolerance forjerks or politics. Candidates who negatively impact our culture are let go, even if it doesn’t make financial sense to do so.

• Values work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and dedication.
