Piton Labs is hiring a full‑time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone comfortable working across the entire stack, ideally with a stronger focus on backend development. The ideal candidate also brings solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience—either from founding your own or working at an early‑stage company—is a plus. We prefer candidates in time zones between GMT‑8 (US West Coast) and GMT‑3, but we’re open to considering others individually.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES

At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with startups and larger organizations to tackle some of their most challenging technical problems. You’ll navigate the ambiguity and complexity that naturally arise in software development, helping clients not only build their products but also determine what should be built in the first place. Instead of simply working through a backlog, you’ll help shape priorities and focus on solving the most valuable problems for our clients.

We’re technology‑agnostic, but most of our projects use Typescript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we typically rely on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a major web application stack, relational databases, and a modern frontend stack. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You should be able to consistently deliver well‑tested, reliable code.

A typical week might include:

• Building complex user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Architecting and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code tools
• Presenting new features to client stakeholders

ABOUT YOU

You work independently and have a passion for writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical skill set. Key qualities include:

• Pragmatism: You focus on solving problems and delivering value, while knowing when creativity is needed.
• Ownership: You take responsibility for products or features and understand both the technical and human aspects involved.
• Depth of experience: With more than five years of professional experience, you’ve worked on a wide range of projects and refined your skills.
• Adaptability: You evolve with technology and aren’t tied to a narrow specialization.

REMOTE WORK GUIDELINES

• Our team is fully remote with no physical office.
• We prefer candidates located in the United States who can legally work there.
• Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
• Expect 4–6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time on most days.
• Digital nomads are welcome; your work location is flexible.

WHY WORK WITH US?

• Competitive salary: 140,000 USD for candidates in the US
• Significant quarterly bonuses tied to company profit, typically 2,500–5,000 USD
• Four weeks of paid vacation
• Fully remote work, permanently
• Strong work‑life balance—you’ll work with fast‑growing startups without giving up your weekends
• Asynchronous, flexible culture with few meetings and high trust in your ability to deliver
