Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer who can work across the entire stack, with a strong emphasis on back-end development. Ideally, you also bring extensive experience with cloud infrastructure. Experience in startups—either as a founder or as an employee in an early-stage company—is a plus. We prefer candidates in time zones between GMT-8 (US West Coast) and GMT-3, though exceptions are possible.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES**

At Piton Labs, you work with startups and larger organizations to solve some of their most challenging technical problems. You navigate the uncertainties and complexity of software development with confidence, helping customers not only build their products, but also decide what should be built in the first place. Instead of simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you help shape priorities and focus on solving the most impactful problems for our customers.

We are technology-agnostic, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we typically use AWS, though some customers choose other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a large web application stack, relational databases, and a modern front-end stack. Experience with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. What matters is that you can consistently deliver well-tested, robust code.

A typical week may include:
– Developing challenging user interfaces for web or mobile apps
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Architecting and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to customers and stakeholders

– Plan for 4–6 hours of overlap with Eastern Coast work hours on most days.
