Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re seeking someone who can contribute across multiple areas of the development team, with a strong preference for candidates who are especially strong in back-end development. You must have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior experience in startup environments—through your own projects or by working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates based in time zones between GMT-8 (US West Coast) and GMT-3, though we may consider other situations case by case.

**Responsibilities and technologies**

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and established organizations to tackle their most challenging technical problems. You’ll operate in an environment marked by high uncertainty and complexity, helping clients build their products by focusing on what genuinely needs to be built. Instead of following a fixed task list, you’ll help set priorities and concentrate on the most important topics for our clients.

We don’t use a single fixed technology stack, but most client projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we typically use AWS, though some clients may use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience building web applications in one or more major environments, including relational databases and modern front-end frameworks. Experience with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must also consistently produce dependable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Building challenging user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and creating a “serverless” API layer for a new web product
– Developing and deploying cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders

**About the ideal candidate**

You’re self-motivated and passionate about building software. You enjoy solving problems and continuously strengthening your technical skills. Key traits include:
– **Practical:** focused on problems and delivering value, showing creativity when needed
– **Independent:** taking ownership of products or features while understanding both technical and human considerations
– **Deep experience:** 5+ years across a variety of projects that evolved over time
– **Adaptable:** growing with technology rather than limiting yourself to one specialty

**Remote work policy**
– The team is fully remote; there’s no physical office
– We prefer candidates located in the United States with legal authorization to work there
– Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– The role requires daily availability of 4–6 hours during US Eastern Time
– Digital nomads are welcome; your location can be flexible

**Why work with us?**
– Competitive compensation: $140,000 USD for candidates based in the US
– Quarterly performance bonus, typically $2,500–$5,000
– Four weeks of paid time off
– Full-time remote work
– Strong work-life balance: collaborate with fast-growing startups without giving up weekends
– A flexible culture with fewer meetings and less coordination overhead, supported by high trust in the quality of your delivery
