ABOUT AIRGARAGE ๐Ÿ™

AirGarage is working to repurpose the 30% of the American city currently occupied by parking.

As a full-stack parking operator, we automate the operation of parking lots and enable churches and businesses to rent out parking to drivers on demand.

Our mission is to restore vibrancy in cities and transform these single-use spaces into multi-use hubs to support a future filled with cloud kitchens, micro-mobility, autonomous vehicles, on-demand fulfillment, and more.

We’re backed by Floodgate, Founders Fund, Weekend Fund, and Angels who have worked at Omni, Opendoor, and Uber.

THE ROLE ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’ป

Weโ€™re looking for a creative software engineer with strong fundamentals and practical projects and experience to join AirGarage.

Our stack is Python, Django, React Native, and some microservices in Node and Elixir.

As a startup, we have a variety of ever-changing needs, from new product features to upgrading our codebase to experimental projects in computer vision and license plate recognition. You will contribute to the core product, used by thousands of people per month to pay for parking.

WHAT YOU WILL DO ๐Ÿ‘ทโ™€๏ธ

— Work with the two main facets of AirGarage – the mobile app / web our drivers use to park and the web platform for lot owners.

— Work across the stack, from backend infra, to production deployment and frontend pages.

— Work with a variety of the most popular and up-and-coming frameworks, such as Django, React Native, Elxiir, Node, and more.

— Serve as a cornerstone member of the AirGarage team and have opportunities to lead projects as we scale the engineering organization.

— Ship quickly, but also ensure quality by writing unit and integration tests.

— Work on internal tools to automate processes and streamline operations.

— Talk directly to customers to identify and fix paint points while having ownership over the products they use every day.

— A variety of things we canโ€™t predict – since we are a startup the role is very dynamic.

WHAT YOU NEED ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽ“

— Strong knowledge of programming principles.

— Experience with architectural patterns of complex web applications (e.g., well-designed APIs), modern JavaScript libraries and tooling such as React.

— Side projects — we are looking for someone who loves hacking and building and demonstrates that by hacking in their free time.

— A growth mindset — you should be a lifelong learner, hungry to learn new technologies, frameworks, and programming languages.

THE UPSIDE ๐Ÿ“ˆ

— By joining as one of our early team members, there is enormous opportunity ahead for you to have an outsized impact and shape the future of AirGarage in this role.

— Competitive early stage company engineering salary initially with upward adjustments post-Series A. Benefits include unlimited PTO, health / dental / vision insurance, 401k, and more.

— A lot of room to grow — the engineering team will be orders of magnitude larger within a few years, and youโ€™ll be the foundation of that team.

— Work closely with our founders and CTO to drive strategy and execute key initiatives.

— The opportunity to change the way that the world thinks about real estate use in our cities.

— A diverse team — we are 11 people that are 45% female and 36% non-white and we hope to continue hiring thoughtfully to build a team that represents the fact that our customers come from all walks of life.

— Youโ€™ll be joining a sharp, motivated team in a fun and intimate office in San Francisco or remote depending on how 2020 shapes up. ๐Ÿ™‚
