Piton Labs is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, full-time. We’re looking for someone who can lead full-stack development, with a stronger emphasis on backend work. You should have solid experience building and working with cloud infrastructure. Prior experience in startups—through personal projects or companies in early stages—is a plus. We prefer candidates located in the GMT‑8 to GMT‑3 time zones (U.S. West Coast), though we may consider applicants from other regions depending on the fit.
### Responsibilities and Technical Scope
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large companies to tackle their hardest technical challenges. You’ll need to manage ambiguity and complexity in software development—supporting clients as they build products and determining what truly needs to be developed. This role goes beyond carrying out tasks from a checklist; you’ll also help set priorities and focus on what matters most to our clients.
We don’t require a specific technology stack, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is typically built on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience with common web application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is beneficial but not required. You should consistently deliver reliable code that has been thoroughly tested.
A typical week may include:
– Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for new products
– Using infrastructure-as-code tools to build and deploy cloud environments
– Sharing function updates with client stakeholders
