Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who feels comfortable across the full stack, ideally with a stronger focus on back-end development. The ideal candidate also has solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Experience in startups—either by running your own company or working in an early-stage team—is a plus. We prefer applicants based between GMT-8 (US West Coast) and GMT-3; we may consider others on an individual basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with startups and larger organizations to tackle some of their most challenging technical problems. You’ll navigate the inherent ambiguity and complexity of software development, helping customers not only build their products, but also figure out what should be built in the first place. Instead of simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you help set priorities and solve the most valuable problems for our customers.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Our cloud infrastructure is typically based on AWS, though some customers use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a major web application stack, relational databases, and a modern frontend stack. Experience with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must be able to reliably deliver well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

• Developing challenging interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Architecting and deploying cloud infrastructure using IaC tools
• Presenting new features to customers and stakeholders

REMOTE WORK GUIDELINES

• Our team is fully remote and has no physical office.
• We prefer applicants from the United States who are legally allowed to work there.
• Secondary preference for applicants from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
• On most days, we expect 4 to 6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time.
• Digital nomads are welcome; your location is flexible.
