Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working across the entire stack, with a strong preference for back-end development. The ideal candidate should also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—either founding a company or working at an early-stage business—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates in time zones between GMT-8 (US West Coast) and GMT-3, though we may consider others on a case-by-case basis.

## Responsibilities and Technologies
At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with both startups and established organizations to solve challenging technical problems. You’ll work through the uncertainty and complexity of software development, helping clients not only build their products, but also clarify what should be built. Rather than just pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and tackle the highest-impact issues for our clients.

While we’re technology-agnostic, most client work involves TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a major web application stack, relational databases, and a modern front-end stack. Familiarity with our usual tools is helpful, but not required. You should consistently deliver dependable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Building user-friendly interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Planning and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Sharing new feature updates with client stakeholders

## About You
You’re self-motivated and enjoy writing code. You like solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. Your strengths include:
– **Pragmatic:** You focus on delivering solutions and value, and you know when to be creative.
– **Independent:** You take ownership of products or features and consider both technical and human factors.
– **Experienced:** With 5+ years in the field, you’ve worked on a wide range of projects and honed your skills.
– **Adaptable:** You keep growing with new technologies instead of limiting yourself to past specialties.

## Remote Work Policy
– The team is fully remote with no office.
– We prefer candidates located in the United States who are legally authorized to work there.
– Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
– Most days, plan for 4–6 hours of overlap with East Coast working hours.
– Digital nomads are welcome—your location is flexible.

## Why Work With Us?
– **Competitive pay:** $140,000 USD for US-based candidates
– **Quarterly profit-sharing bonuses:** typically $2,500–$5,000
– **Four weeks of paid vacation**
– **Fully remote position, permanently**
– **Strong work-life balance:** collaborate with fast-growing startups without giving up your weekends
– **Flexible, asynchronous culture:** fewer meetings and high trust in your ability to deliver
