Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working across the entire stack, with an emphasis on backend development. The ideal candidate will also have strong experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—whether you’ve built your own venture or worked at an early-stage company—is a plus. We prefer candidates located in time zones between GMT‑8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT‑3, though we may consider others on a case-by-case basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES
At Piton Labs, you’ll partner with startups and larger organizations to address some of their most difficult technical challenges. You’ll manage the uncertainty and natural complexity of software development—helping clients not only build their products, but also determine what should be built. Rather than simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and focus on delivering the solutions that create the greatest value for our clients.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most of our work uses TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, although some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a core stack that includes web applications, relational databases, and a modern frontend framework. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful, but not required. Above all, you should be confident delivering dependable, well-tested code consistently.

A typical week may include:

• Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Defining and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Designing and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to the client’s stakeholders

ABOUT YOU
You’re self-directed and genuinely enjoy writing code. You like solving problems and continually growing your technical skills. We value:

• Pragmatism: You focus on solving problems and creating value, while knowing when to think creatively.
• Autonomy: You take ownership of products or features and understand both the technical and human aspects of the work.
• Experience: With 5+ years in the field, you’ve worked on a wide range of projects and strengthened your skills.
• Adaptability: You keep up with technology and aren’t confined to a narrow specialty.

REMOTE WORK POLICY

• The team is fully remote, with no physical office.
• We prefer U.S.-based candidates who are legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
• Expect 4 to 6 hours of overlap with U.S. East Coast working hours on most days.
• Digital nomads are welcome; your work location can be flexible.

WHY WORK WITH US

• Competitive pay: $140,000 USD for candidates based in the U.S.
• Strong quarterly bonuses tied to company profits, typically $2.5K to $5K
• Four weeks of paid vacation
• Fully remote, permanent position
• Great work-life balance: help fast-growing startups succeed without giving up your weekends
• Flexible, asynchronous culture with few meetings and trust in your ability to deliver
