Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re seeking someone who can lead full-stack development, with a stronger focus on backend engineering. You should have solid experience building and working with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—either through personal projects or early-stage companies—is a plus. We prefer candidates based in time zones from GMT‑8 to GMT‑3 (US West Coast), though we may consider other regions depending on fit.

### Responsibilities and Technical Scope
At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with both startups and large organizations to solve their most challenging technical problems. You’ll need to navigate the uncertainty and complexity of software development—supporting clients as they build products and helping define what should actually be built. This role is more than completing tasks on a checklist: you’ll also help set priorities and guide attention toward what matters most to our clients.

We don’t require a specific technology stack, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is typically built on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience with commonly used stacks for web applications, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful, but not required. You should consistently produce reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Developing advanced web or mobile interfaces
– Designing and implementing serverless API layers for new products
– Using infrastructure-as-code tools to build and deploy cloud environments
– Communicating feature updates to client stakeholders

### Ideal Candidate Profile
You’re independent, proactive, and genuinely motivated to build software. You enjoy solving problems and continuously growing your technical skills. You should have:
– **Practical mindset:** prioritize solving problems, delivering value, and being creative when it makes a difference
– **Ownership:** take responsibility for outcomes and consider both technical and human factors
– **Deep experience:** 5+ years across a range of projects, with ongoing growth
– **Adaptability:** be willing to adopt new technologies rather than limiting yourself to one area

### Remote Work Policy
– The team is fully remote, with no office location
– US legal authorization to work and current residence in the US are prioritized
– Next preference: candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– You must overlap with US Eastern Time for 4–6 hours per day
– Digital nomads are welcome; your location can be flexible

### Why Join Us
– **Competitive pay:** $140,000 for US local candidates
– **Quarterly bonus tied to company profitability:** typically $2,500–$5,000
– **Four weeks paid time off**
– **Fully remote role**
– **Strong work-life balance:** help drive fast-moving startup work without sacrificing weekends
– **Flexible culture:** fewer meetings and less coordination overhead, with high trust in how you execute
