Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re seeking someone who is comfortable building end-to-end systems, with especially strong backend skills. Ideally, you’ll also have experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience—such as founding a company or joining an early-stage team—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT-8 (US Pacific Time) and GMT-3, though we may consider applicants from other time zones on a case-by-case basis.

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large organizations to solve their toughest technical challenges. You’ll operate in the ambiguity and complexity that comes with software development, helping clients build products and also clarify what should be built. This role isn’t just about taking tasks from a backlog—you’ll help set priorities and focus on delivering the most valuable solutions for our clients.

We’re generally technology-agnostic, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically build cloud infrastructure on AWS, although some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with mainstream web application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend technologies. Experience with the specific tools we use is helpful but not required. You should be able to deliver reliable, well-tested code consistently over the long term.

A typical week may include:
• Building complex user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new product
• Creating and deploying cloud architecture using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to client stakeholders

You’re self-directed and genuinely enjoy coding. You like solving problems and continually growing your technical capabilities. We value the following qualities:

• Highly experienced: at least five years in the field, with exposure to a variety of projects and a commitment to ongoing improvement

Remote work policy:
• Fully remote team, with no physical office
• Highest priority for candidates who have legal authorization to work in the United States
• Next priority for candidates based in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• Must be available for 4–6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time on most days
• Digital nomads are welcome, with flexibility in location
