Piton Labs is currently hiring a full-time senior software engineer. We’re looking for someone who can work across the stack, with a stronger focus on backend. You must have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience is a plus—whether from personal projects or early-stage company work. We strongly prefer candidates located in the GMT‑8 (US West Coast) to GMT‑3 time zones, but if there’s a strong match, we may consider applicants from other regions.

### Responsibilities and Technical Scope
At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with both startups and large enterprises to tackle their most challenging technical problems. You’ll need to handle the uncertainty and complexity that comes with software development—helping customers build products and deciding what truly needs to be developed. This isn’t just about executing a checklist; you’ll also help set priorities and focus on what matters most to the customer.

We don’t require a specific technology stack, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is typically on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with mainstream web application development stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is a plus, but not required. You must be able to continuously deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and developing a serverless API layer for new products
– Creating and deploying cloud environments using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to relevant stakeholders at customer organizations

### Ideal Candidate Profile
You should be independent, proactive, and genuinely enjoy building software. You like solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. You should have:
– **Pragmatism:** Focus on solving problems and creating value; be creative when it really matters
– **Ownership mindset:** Take responsibility for outcomes and understand both technical needs and people’s needs
– **Deep experience:** 5+ years of experience across multiple projects, with ongoing growth
– **Adaptability:** Keep up with technology evolution rather than limiting yourself to a single niche

### Remote Work Policy
– Fully remote team—no physical office location
– Priority for candidates within the United States who also have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
– Secondary consideration: candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– 4–6 hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern Time each day
– Digital nomads are welcome; work location is flexible

### Why Join Us
– **Competitive compensation:** $140,000 USD annual salary for candidates based in the U.S.
– **Quarterly bonuses tied to company profit:** typically $2,500–$5,000
– **Four weeks of paid vacation**
– **Fully remote work**
– **Good work-life balance:** support fast-moving startup work without sacrificing weekends
– **Flexible culture:** fewer meetings and less synchronized collaboration—high trust that you’ll get things done
