Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re seeking a candidate who can lead full-stack development, with a stronger emphasis on backend work. You must have strong experience building and working with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—through personal projects or early-stage companies—is a plus. We prefer candidates based in the GMT‑8 to GMT‑3 time zones (US West Coast), though we may consider applicants from other regions depending on fit.

### Responsibilities and Technical Scope
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large enterprises to tackle their hardest technical challenges. You’ll need to manage the ambiguity and complexity of software development—supporting customers as they build products and determining what should actually be developed. This role is more than carrying out tasks from a checklist; you’ll also help set priorities and focus on what matters most to our customers.

We don’t require a specific technology stack, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is usually built on AWS, though some customers use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with widely used web application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is beneficial but not required. You must consistently deliver dependable code that has been thoroughly tested.

A typical week may involve:
– Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for new products
– Using infrastructure-as-code tools to build and deploy cloud environments
– Sharing feature updates with customer stakeholders

### Ideal Candidate Traits
You’re independent, self-motivated, and genuinely excited about building software. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical expertise. You should have:
– **Practical mindset:** focus on solving problems, delivering value, and being creative when it counts
– **Ownership:** take responsibility for results and understand both technical and human factors
– **Deep experience:** 5+ years across diverse projects, with ongoing growth
– **Adaptability:** embrace new technologies rather than limiting yourself to one area

### Remote Work Policy
– The team is fully remote, with no office location
– Priority is given to applicants with legal work authorization in the United States who currently live in the US
– Next preference: candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– You must overlap with US Eastern Time for 4–6 hours per day
– Digital nomads are welcome; your location can be flexible

### Why Join Us
– **Competitive pay:** $140,000 for local US candidates
– **Quarterly bonus based on company profit:** typically $2,500–$5,000
– **Four weeks of paid time off**
– **Full remote role**
– **Healthy work-life balance:** help drive fast-moving startup initiatives without sacrificing weekends
– **Flexible culture:** fewer meetings and less coordination overhead, with high trust in how you execute
