**Job Description:**
Our 2026 Summer Internship program is a great opportunity for students graduating in 2027 to join an innovative, mission-driven culture. Are you a passionate and innovative Electrical Engineering student who wants to help build cutting-edge AI products? Are you motivated to make a positive impact in the world? Do you want to work with teammates who are mission-focused and values-driven? If so, Shield AI is the place for you—help us design elegant, high-performance computing, sensing, communication, and power systems.

**10-Week Project Scope & Description:**
– Own requirements gathering, design, and validation for multiple avionics assemblies and/or test fixtures.
– Develop expertise across multiple areas of Electrical Engineering, designing systems for power electronics, communications, RF, and more.
– Design test stands and test fixtures, potentially including relays, PLCs, PCBAs, harnesses, and other electrical and mechanical components.
– Use Python to automate test sequences, support analysis, or run simulations.
– Participate in cross-functional design reviews and advocate for design changes that simplify manufacturing.
– Other responsibilities as assigned.

**Required Qualifications:**
– You are an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD student expected to graduate in December 2026 or Spring 2027.
– You are pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
– Strong understanding of core engineering principles, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, programming, physics, and mathematics.
– Experience working on multidisciplinary hardware development projects, such as internships, jobs, clubs, teams, or personal projects.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– A proven track record of taking ownership of project outcomes and delivering exceptional results.
– Evidence of being hardworking, a reliable teammate, committed to high standards, and respectful and kind to others.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Experience with PCB schematic and layout tools such as Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, or similar.
– Experience with Python or another scripting language.
– Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or similar.
– Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and the ability to innovate under pressure to meet changing project needs and drive success.

$39–$55 per hour
– Rising Bachelor’s graduate: $39/hour
– Rising Master’s graduate: $44/hour
– Rising PhD graduate: $56/hour
– Housing stipend provided for those who qualify.

**Intern Program Dates:**
June 1 – Aug 7, OR June 22 – Aug 28
*You must be available to begin on either June 1 or June 22.*
