First, this is a wishlist, not a checklist. We’re looking for an exceptional person to join our team, and we know “exceptional” can look many different ways. If you’re a little less experienced with any of these bullets, or if you didn’t attend an elite school, please apply anyway. We evaluate candidates, not resumes.
## About Us
Standard is a talent management agency and production company for thoughtful YouTubers and podcasters. We do a lot of different things, so it’s hard to capture everything in one paragraph, but our goal is to empower independent creators. Most of our time is spent working directly with creators—one on one or in groups—building better tools and “toys” for them.
We’re a distributed company with offices in NYC and Denver, but more than half of our team works remotely from places like the UK, the Netherlands, France, and Ohio.
There are meetings and tasks to handle, but we value flexibility. We think this makes Standard a great workplace for people with families or for those whose most productive hours fall outside the traditional 9-to-5. We care more about what you do than when you do it.
## About the Role
Standard is seeking a creative, passionate product designer to help design and build software solutions for independent creators. You’ll join a design team led by the CCO, with significant autonomy and immediate influence on the design and user experience of our major products and services.
## Responsibilities

– Collaborate with individual platforms on design-specific requests
– Work with Nebula Product Owners on design priorities and concepts
– Produce design deliverables such as user flows, wireframes, low- and high-fidelity layouts, and prototypes
– Coordinate with other design team members to ensure clear, consistent, and accurate communication
– Share product design concepts with cross-functional teams and leadership
## What We’re Looking For
– 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer
– Demonstrated experience across the full design process, including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
– Strong skills in typography, layout, and visual design
– Experience using Figma and Zeplin, as well as knowledge of design review workflows
– Familiarity with HIG and Material Design concepts
– A critical mindset with strong creative problem-solving skills
– Excellent communication skills with both creative and non-creative stakeholders, especially in writing
– Strong attention to detail and a proactive, independent work style
– Self-motivated, able to manage time and priorities with minimal supervision
– Experience with agile methodologies and design systems is a plus
## Perks
– Competitive salary ($60,000–$100,000), depending on experience
– Flexible working hours and vacation policy
– A diverse, socially minded team of genuinely nice people
– Access to our offices in NYC and Denver
– Medical, dental, and vision plans (for US-based employees)
– 401(k) and other benefits
## How We Hire
We believe diversity matters. Many of us come from non-traditional backgrounds. Since we work in online education, we understand how much you can learn on your own—online, outside a classroom.
We’re looking for people who are curious and passionate. Our team should include people from a wide range of backgrounds, gender identities, and bodies—people who can broaden our perspective and help us treat our creators and audience with care, thoughtfulness, and empathy.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you—apply even if you have fewer years of experience or didn’t attend school where you “should.” And if you have suggestions on how we could broaden or better reach a more diverse group of talent, please reach out.
