This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone with deep treasury expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to turn complexity into action—while living Protective’s values: do the right thing, serve people, build trust, and strive for better.

Key Responsibilities:
– Lead enterprise treasury operations, including liquidity management, funding execution, support for Stable Value Products, and debt capital markets strategy and activities.
– Oversee daily cash positioning, short-term investments, liquidity sourcing, intercompany funding flows, and treasury processes across multiple legal entities.
– Manage treasury governance, including bank account administration, signatory controls, access reviews, legal entity documentation, and compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
– Improve treasury infrastructure, automation, reporting, data integrity, and modernize processes to enhance efficiency, control, and scalability.
– Support and optimize institutional funding programs, including FHLB, FABN, commercial paper, revolving credit facilities, holding company debt, and related capital markets activities.
– Collaborate across ALM, Investments, FP&A, ERM, Accounting, Legal, and other enterprise teams to assess liquidity, capital, earnings, and risk tradeoffs that inform business planning and strategy.
– Represent Treasury with banks, investors, funding counterparties, rating agencies, regulators, and other key external stakeholders.
– Lead treasury integration planning and execution for acquisitions, legal entity changes, and other strategic transactions that affect treasury operations or organizational structure.
– Lead and develop treasury talent, strengthen operating discipline, and align team resources to enterprise priorities.
– Provide clear analysis, insights, and executive-level recommendations to support decision-making across Finance and senior leadership.

Core Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities):
– Strong expertise in enterprise liquidity management, funding structures, institutional liability products, and capital markets instruments.
– Solid understanding of financial, capital, accounting, and risk considerations relevant to insurance and broader financial services organizations.
– An enterprise mindset with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs across liquidity, capital, earnings, growth, and risk.
– Strategic thinking combined with strong operational discipline and a high standard of execution.
– Proven ability to lead through complexity in a highly regulated environment.
– Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder leadership across Finance and enterprise partners.
– Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, build credibility quickly, and effectively represent Treasury internally and externally.
– Strong skills in financial analysis, modeling, executive communication, and presentations.
– Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a problem-solving approach that turns complexity into practical action.
– Commitment to lead in a way that reflects Protective’s core values and people-first culture.

Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, risk management, or a related field.
– 7+ years of experience in corporate treasury, insurance finance, debt capital markets, asset/liability management, or a related financial services field.
– Demonstrated experience leading treasury operations, liquidity management, funding execution, or related capital markets activities.
– Experience working across multiple stakeholders and functions to drive strategic, enterprise-impact decisions.
– Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and deliver results in a complex, regulated environment.
– Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant treasury, market, or analytical platforms such as Bloomberg or treasury management systems.
– Ability to travel periodically as required by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience in the life insurance industry.
– CFA, CPA, CTP, CERA, or FRM designation, or progress toward completion.
– Experience supporting investor marketing, funding program development, or capital strategy in institutional markets.
– Experience leading treasury transformation, system enhancements, automation, or process improvement initiatives.
