Who we seek:
We’re looking for an amazing Director of Revenue Accounting to join our team, which will own the Revenue Accounting function and Order-to-Cash process. As the Director of Revenue Accounting, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and managing the organization’s revenue cycle process. You will be empowered to develop new ideas, find new capabilities, and drive their implementation and integration inside BigID. You will be responsible for insourcing the Order-to-Cash function and building out the team. You should have strong written and oral communication and be able to work with a variety of stakeholders. This role will report to the Global Controller.
Succeeding in this position requires you to lead and inspire other team members as well as be a self-starter with problem-solving skills. You should enjoy being a technical expert in multiple areas, have a strong affinity for building efficient processes, and architecting solutions that scale. We are looking for someone living on the East Coast, EST hours.
What you’ll do:
Oversee the Order-to-Cash process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, cash application, and collections processes.
This role is responsible for insourcing the Order-to-Cash function and building out the team.
Develop and implement effective revenue operations strategies, policies, and procedures to support business growth and scalability.
Ownership of revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.
Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently on a worldwide basis
Continuously identify areas of improvement in revenue processes, systems, and workflows, implementing enhancements to drive operational efficiency.
Responsible for financial statement disclosures related to deferred revenue and revenue
Responsible annual revenue accounting memos.
Key contact with internal and external auditors to review revenue accounting assessments and to manage annual audits.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of progressive experience – preferably a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience (preferably at the Manager level) and public companies with multiple, complex revenue streams in a high-growth environment; multi-national experience
Proven experience in accounts receivable management, revenue operations, finance operations or related roles, preferably in fast-growing technology companies.
Licensed CPA (active preferred)
Experience managing a global team
Experience and in-depth knowledge of revenue accounting under ASC 606
Proven ability for technical accounting research and documentation of positions
Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions
Experience building and developing staff
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite) and related data across a global business
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The annual base salary range is $180,000 – $200,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is just one component of our Compensation Philosophy. Variable/Bonus Compensation & Equity Incentives align with individual and company performance.
