The Role: The Director of Business Development must provide leadership to position the firm as a leading performance-driven marketing agency. This individual will serve as the visible lead manager of the business to drive sales from new clients and business partners.

Scope:

  • Annual sales quota is approximately $1.5M.
  • Develop and oversee sales plans.
  • Help construct client account teams.
  • Run weekly reports to analyze performance and update forecasts as needed.

Skills / Abilities/ Knowledge:

  • Proven, visible, open, and engaging leadership style.
  • Proven experience designing and executing complex business strategies.
  • Ability to work in a flat organization.
  • Strong familiarity with target markets and familiarity with agency business models.
  • Must possess the highest caliber organizational, planning, and supervising skills.
  • Be proficient and experienced in developing comprehensive reports.
  • Must be decisive and able to make timely, yet informed, sound business decisions.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be a clear, strategic thinker.
  • Ability to uphold the highest ethical standards.
  • Strong business acumen and financial savvy.
  • Results-driven but not at the expense of company values.
  • Effective, professional negotiation skills.

Experience / Education:

  • BS/BA degree in Business; Master’s degree is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in service-based sales with demonstrated success selling a complex product or solution offering.
  • Experience with account management and selling complex business solutions to small and medium-sized businesses with multiple decisions makers.
  • Experience preferred in one of more of the following: marketing agency, collaborative applications, SaaS business models, or marketing integration tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Compensation: $175,000 – $225,000

Start up or early stage company experience preferred
