Under the general guidance of the Associate CTO, the Director of Systems Engineering and Operations will lead and provide technical guidance to systems and storage architects, engineers, and technicians throughout the UCLA Health organization. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and continual improvement of systems & storage architecture and operational processes that align with business initiatives. Additionally, the Director of Systems Engineering and Operations will ensure that designs meet the highest industry standards to provide UCLA Health a secure, dependable, resilient and high performing systems & storage environments. She/he will lead and guide the development of technology solutions and strategic roadmaps for the following areas: data center architecture, server computing, storage, data backup, virtualization, server side printing, capacity, disaster recovery, and performance. Additionally, he/she must possess strong analytical ability, sound judgment, the capacity to think strategically and multi-dimensionally in order to solve problems and make decisions and recommendations to team members, and IT leadership. This role will ensure internal business customers are provided with value-added, cost-efficient and interoperable IT Infrastructure systems.
