The opportunity
Zalando’s continuous delivery team builds the infrastructure necessary for our engineers to create, test and automatically deploy their own applications. As a DevOps engineer, you will automate every step of our delivery pipeline and support other teams in using it. Whether junior- or senior-level, you will be expected to challenge our status quo and help us define best practices for how we work. And you will have the freedom to launch your own open source projects, contribute to others’ projects, build internal community around your interests, and strengthen your personal brand – while receiving meaningful support at every step.
What we are looking for
You have an above average degree in IT or a similar subject
You have vast experience in software development with Python including technologies like PIP and virtual environments
You are confident in the usage of Linux
You love taking part in analytical projects, you feel responsible for the quality of your work and you support your team members in what they do
You have no problems communicating in English
You have experience with AWS
Your responsibilities
Develop and maintain our delivery infrastructure
Lead our efforts to automate our high-availability Linux system architecture
Evaluate and implement new technologies to speed up performance, repair performance bottlenecks, and enhance the overall quality of our internal backend system operations
Maintain, review and back up system components
Develop and implement high-quality security concepts
