The Role

LeafLink is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our remote team who is passionate about working on teams that solve interesting, large-scale problems at a rapid pace. This role will contribute heavily to the buildout and iteration of LeafLink’s existing and emerging platform, powering an ever-expanding set of product offerings. As a member of our engineering team, you will be in a position to have a direct, lasting impact everywhere that technology powers our business.

LeafLink is currently gearing up to tackle a large-scale platform overhaul that will strengthen our position as a technical leader within the industry. As such, this role has the opportunity to help shape and grow this new platform, as well as work within new and growing technologies. It’s a very exciting time to join our engineering team!

  • Drive Improvement of availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of services alongside responsible parties

  • Increase the sophistication of our alerting and escalation mechanisms

  • Create and co-maintain dashboards surfacing actionable insights related to performance, error rate, traffic, and utilization

  • Build/maintain platform report cards based on tracked metrics, increasing visibility of areas for improvement in each product area associated with reliability

  • Identify and help develop opportunities for the platform to create libraries and automated standards for improving reliability, debugging, and general observability on our platform

  • Track and correlate improvements to results in NPS/customer satisfaction alongside CX and Product teams

  • Improve Customer Experience by analyzing signals from various sources such as DataDog that also drive service improvements and bug fixes

  • Help define, document, evolve, and evangelize high engineering standards and best practices across multiple areas for LeafLink’s Product, Data, and Enterprise Engineering teams.

  • Implement future mitigation strategies for P0 incidents and help drive industry best-in-class benchmarks for MTTR

  • Collaborate with engineering/product teams to drive requirements and advocate for increased customer resiliency and platform reliability

  • Help drive improvements within the organization around DORA Metrics

  • Move quickly and intelligently – seeing technical debt as your nemesis

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a DevOps/Cloud Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer, or other equivalent role

  • Familiarity with Python and Python testing best practices

  • Experience working in and advocating for agile environments

  • Extensive experience working within AWS and with its managed products (EC2, ECS, ECR, R53, SES, Elasticache, RDS, etc.)

  • Strong experience working with automation tooling (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)

  • Strong experience with containers (Docker, Compose, ECS, Kubernetes)

  • Hands-on experience designing, diagraming, and implementing highly available and scalable systems

  • Understanding of monitoring tools (Pagerduty, CloudWatch, Datadog, Sentry, etc.)

  • A participant in a formal 24×7 on-call rotation

  • Experience working within large-scale decoupled, service-oriented systems is a plus

  • An interest in the cannabis industry and/or the LeafLink brand
