DevOps Engineer (Contract)

Brightech is looking for a DevOps engineer who knows Kubernetes inside and out. They will be responsible for implementing our containerization technology platform, running in Kubernetes. This position will require a few hats to be worn. We’re also looking for someone that can implement automation for basic API testing using Postman or API tool of choice. You should also be comfortable working with SQL for minor data cleansing operations.

The candidate has to be an expert in Docker and containerization technologies. They must have knowledge about container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and logging/monitoring tools for these orchestration tools. They will also be responsible for building and improving our application CI/CD pipelines.

Technologies used within the tech stack include . NET Core, VueJS, Swagger, MS SQL, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, RabbitMQ, Dapper, Ocelot

More about the project… Brightech has designed and developed a new web application that is being used to to run several functions within a large radiology practice. The application is currently in a validation stage with the client. We need to bring on this role in order to help get the application to production status.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain highly available systems on Kubernetes.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement an auto-scaling system for our Kubernetes nodes.
  • Improve platform monitoring
  • Basic data cleansing and data wrangling
  • Basic automated API Testing

Requirements

  • Operations or systems administration experience, particularly on Linux.
  • At least 3 years of production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or cloud deployment technologies
  • Experience with container networking on Docker.
  • Experience with application deployment by using CI/CD.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.
  • Experience with alerting tools like OpsGenie, PagerDuty, etc.
  • Basic SQL experience
  • Familiarity with Postman or similar API testing tool

Benefits

Contract Length: 3 months (40 hours wk) w/ potential for extension (100% remote)

Rate: $100-$135/hr
