This is a DevOps Engineer position. Its a fast moving role and will require someone with many different disciplines and some great people skills too.

Youre a motivated, enthusiastic, and ready to get stuck into automating Lumiservs future. Youll be working with AWS, Saltstack, Puppet, Continuous Integration, multiple languages and several tools. Youll also be working directly with our customers and their developers to make awesome happen.

Making things better;

  • Automation and Orchestration: To scale we need to automate. If you can script, automate, reduce manual effort and improve the experience for people then youre a good fit. Tools like Docker, Vagrant, Zabbix, Zenoss, Spiceworks, Zapier, IFTTT, cron, Powershell, Puppet, Saltstack, Chef, Jenkins and many others are useful (you dont have to know them all). If youve got a great idea around automation we want to hear it.
  • Certificates are nice: it shows that you are really interested in the areas you have focussed on, real world skill is just as valuable tell us about the projects youve worked on so we can learn more about the real you.
  • Code: Our mission is to help our customers sleep at night. To do this we want to build the software and tools that will eventually run our business, and help our customers too. Youll be heavily involved in shaping this and connecting code to systems.
  • Languages: PHP, . NET, SQL, standards-based HTML, CSS, Java and Javascript (not the same thing) are all valuable show us your previous code-fu (links or it didnt happen!) and the great projects you want to build with us.
  • A little extra: we have a plan for some enormous data projects that may require a NoSQL based approach if you can help us solve problems where we currently pay for 3rd party apps, this is your chance to shine.
  • API Skills: we have systems already in place we need to extend and other tools are build by third parties youll need to have some API kung-fu skills to get the best and save you from re-inventing the wheel (unless its a really, really good wheel).
  • Networking: DNS, routing, IP addressing, SSL, VPN you dont need to be an expert but a good grounding is important. We also work with all kinds of firewalls; both software & hardware if you have experience wed love to hear about it.
  • Support: We all get involved with support across the company, that includes the Head Honcho, marketing and you; its how we understand our customers needs and encourages us to deliver a consistent and awesome experience. The fresh perspectives from the team help identify the weak points in our processes and make them better.
  • Blah blah blah: Youll be actually talking to people sometimes picking up the phone or going to site will be essential to getting an issue resolved.
  • Mini projects: youll be working closely with our Master of Marketing to produce micro sites for campaigns, competition tracking platforms, transactional emails, constant improvements to our front end website and many other things.
  • Honesty, Ownership and Responsibility: if you made something better or delivered something awesome then we want you tell everyone about it. If you broke it then you need to be just as vocal in your apology and then make it better for next time.
  • Side projects: if you have an idea that will help or something you want to try well support you. In fact we actively encourage your creative side.
