Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled DevOps Engineer to join its Web Product Engineering department. The ideal candidate is someone with skills in software engineering who has extensive experience with the automation of application deployment and managing CI/CD cycles as well as containers and who is also interested in working on back end APIs. This person would also be someone who uses and understands clusterization software and advanced operations of Cloud management and who stays current with the latest web technologies and techniques to discover new ways to improve applications.

Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management Build and be responsible for the CI/CD pipeline Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations Document and design various processes; update existing processes Improve infrastructure development and application development Help investigate and fix bugs

Requirements

3 years previous experience in DevOps 2 years previous experience as a software engineer, preferably experience with Java Extensive experience working with a major cloud provider like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Experience with Linux infrastructures, CI/CD tools and scripting languages Experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Jenkins, Git or Vagrant Knowledge of web server technologies like Apache or NGINX Understanding of core networking, DNS, TCP/IP, routing, HAProxy and load balancing Ability to collaborate with multiple departments Ability to solve most problems independently Experience administering Unix/Linux servers Experience supporting the production environments Strong Automation and DevOps mindset Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics or a related technical or quantitative field Location: Remote
