A little about us We’re a well-established web company who craft and refine our own enterprise CMS, and offer website design and development services. Our software and services help some of the largest organisations in Europe to manage their websites. Our clients include the NHS, police, local government, and leading universities. We’re creative, honest, and proud of our work. We also like to have fun along the way. We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Hosting Operations team. Our offices are on the outskirts of Ludlow, in Shropshire, but we’re flexible in our our working arrangements. You could choose to work in the office or work remotely. You can also pick and choose start and finish times to suit you. Your typical day might include: Refactoring an Ansible playbook or custom Python module Assisting our Support team in diagnosing an issue with a customer environment Contributing in a planning meeting about future infrastructure Planning a customer migration or upgrade to our infrastructure As a successful candidate you: Have excellent organisational skills Are a manager of one and can use your own initiative Can quickly write a script for almost anything Are familiar with the entire stack and think DevOps is the future Finish the job properly Leave things better than you found them Write a script for anything you’ve done more than twice Can’t go to sleep if a production system isn’t perfect Love to learn new things and do so quickly Don’t just use other people’s code, but write your own Make great decisions, but know when to ask for advice It would be great if you have: Windows and/ or Linux Server administration VMware Haproxy Varnish Docker and Kubernetes Configuration management ideally using Ansible Solid working knowledge of networking Experience of DevOps culture and working practices. Competent in either Python, Perl, Ruby. Things you’ll be excited by include: Cloud Computing Software-defined data center Infrastructure as code DevOps Docker Git Configuration management
