The Data Services group is a team within the Hearst Corporate Technology organization tasked with developing Hearst’s enterprisewide data pipelineand promoting next-level business decisions utilizing that Big Data. This involves establishing a company-wide data warehouseby collecting Hearst’s diverse data resources at an audience level and making it available to product and business intelligence teams.
As DevOpsEngineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our Big Data initiatives for Hearst Data Warehouse platform. The idealcandidate is someone with a mix of Dev-Ops and development skill sets, who offers innovative solutions through a combination of creative thinking and deep understanding of the problem space. He or she will help define and implement new processes on the Hearst Data Warehouse platform and work closely with Data Scientists to transform big data models into valuable decision points for consumers of our media platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with development teams to architect and implement applications in a secure and highly available manner
Management of development and production infrastructure for high traffic consumer facing sites
Troubleshoot and identify root cause of issues in a complex environment
Be part of a team that provides 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis
Experiment with emerging technologies related to Big Data initiatives for Hearst Data Warehouse platform
Work closely with Data Engineering and Data Visualization teams to implement technical needs and expectations
