We are looking for a 3D artist to join Jam City’s narrative game team and contribute to a new title currently in development. In this role, you will create high‑quality 3D visuals by modeling and texturing props, environments, and characters, and then implementing these assets in the game engine.

A link to an online portfolio, website, or PDF with recent work samples is required for the application.

Responsibilities
• Produce top‑quality 3D models and textures.
• Build high‑quality, optimized 3D environments, props, and characters.
• Work with the Art Lead and Art Director to define and maintain the project’s visual style.
• Identify and resolve visual issues related to in‑game assets and how characters interact with their surroundings.
• Pinpoint and improve pipeline efficiencies for more effective asset production.
• Communicate with the Lead Artist, Art Director, producers, and other project stakeholders about tasks and deadlines.
• Solve artistic and technical challenges during development.
• Occasionally support the tech art team with basic rigging and skinning tasks.

Requirements
• At least 3 years of experience in 3D game development.
• Experience contributing to at least one fully released 3D game project.
• Strong skills in Maya and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of rendering and real‑time shader development.
• Experience with Substance Painter and PBR materials.
• Ability to work across different themes and artistic styles.
• Solid understanding of environment and character art workflows.
• Good knowledge of human and animal anatomy.
• Excellent grasp of composition, color, value, and form in both traditional art and game graphics.
• Deep understanding of the 3D game development pipeline and experience collaborating with engineering and design teams.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Art degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with Unity.
• Very strong spoken and written English skills.

Bonus
• Strong abilities in 2D concept art and illustration.
• Rigging experience in Maya.
• Maya scripting skills (MEL or Python).
• Experience creating shaders using shader‑graph tools.
• Knowledge of Substance Designer.
• Experience with ZBrush.
