Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who feels comfortable working across the stack, ideally with a stronger focus on back-end development. The ideal candidate will also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior experience at startups—either leading your own project or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT-8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT-3, though others may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES**

At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with startups and larger organizations to tackle some of their hardest technical challenges. You’ll navigate the ambiguity and complexity inherent in software development, helping clients not only build their products, but also decide what should be built. Instead of simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and focus on the most valuable problems for our clients.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience working with a core web application stack, relational databases, and a modern front-end stack. Experience with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

– Building complete user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Architecting and provisioning cloud infrastructure using IaC tools
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders

You’re self-sufficient and genuinely enjoy writing code. You like solving problems and continuously expanding your technical skills. Key qualities include:

**REMOTE WORK POLICY**

– Our team is fully remote and has no physical office.
– We prefer candidates based in the U.S. who are legally authorized to work there.
– Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
– You’ll need 4–6 hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern Time on most days.
– Digital nomads are welcome—your work location is flexible.
