As a Piper developer intern you will be asked to take on two core growth areas to focus your time on. These will range from client to server side projects. The internship is part time, 10-20 hours a week, and unpaid. Our hope is to give exposure to many of the different types of technologies and competencies needed to be a successful in the world of software development. Having exposure to the industry ourselves, we also want to provide mentoring to prepare you for after graduation through industry connections, start-up introductions (We hope you stay with us) and real shippable software.

What Makes You a Great Fit for this Position • Working toward a BS in Computer Science or related technical field • Programming experience in JavaScript and C, C++ or Java. • Experience with HTML and CSS • Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design • Education focused on building reliable distributed systems or machine learning. • Exposure with Nodejs and the V8 JavaScript Engine • JavaScript coding experience • Excited about scalable software, passionate about JavaScript • Heard of or hacked on a project using Nodejs, Express.js or Backbone.js • Have a cloud account with a dedicated IP, and have used it for a personal project • Show initiative to learn things fast and excited to get exposure to all aspects of a start-up company • Feel that delighting customers is more important than taking credit for ideas or having the best office (even though we do have the best office) • Ready to put a bunch of development muscle into creating a reliable and secure project that will be shipped in the product. • Exposure to SQL and NoSQL • Experience with UNIX/Linux or Windows and/or Mac environments • Like to have fun
