Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone comfortable working across the entire stack, ideally with a stronger focus on back-end development. The ideal candidate will also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—either running their own business or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT-8 (US West Coast) and GMT-3, though others may be considered on an individual basis.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES**

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with startups and larger organizations to tackle some of their most challenging technical problems. You’ll handle the ambiguity and complexity that come with building software—helping clients not only create their products, but also decide what should be built. Rather than simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and focus on solving the most valuable problems for clients.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a core stack for web applications, relational databases, and a modern front-end stack. Experience with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. It’s essential to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

– Building rich user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Architecting and provisioning cloud infrastructure using IaC tools
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders

You’re self-sufficient and passionate about writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical skills. Key qualities include:

– Experienced: 5+ years in the field, with experience across multiple projects and continuous improvement of your craft.

**REMOTE WORK POLICY**

– Our team is fully remote, with no physical office.
– We prefer candidates based in the United States who are legally authorized to work there.
– Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
– Expect 4 to 6 hours of overlap with US East Coast working hours on most days.
– Digital nomads are welcome; your work location is flexible.
