Job description
Banjo Robinson is on the prowl for IT Support
Banjo is a character-led children’s IP – and subscription business – which sends personalised letters and learning packs to children between the ages of 5-8, twice a month. Books nurture a love of reading, but letters from a magical, globetrotting cat encourage children to write a reply. 9/10 children write back to Banjo, and our platform allows parents to add their own message to the next letter he sends, creating an ongoing, reciprocal relationship between child and cat, and turbo-charging their engagement with our IP. To date, we’ve sent over 50,000 letters to children in 37 countries.
We’re looking for IT Support with experience in fast-growth companies and a desire to apply their experience to another fast paced startup environment. This person will work closely with our IT Manager, joining a team of fun and creative cats, determined to revolutionise the way children learn to read and write, around the world.
The company
We are a London-based remote startup looking to disrupt the children’s publishing, media and educational technology markets. The current team includes experienced entrepreneurs, a distinguished Board, renowned investors (we’re backed by the creators of Sesame Street) and scale up specialists. We were one of 10 companies, chosen from 1200 applicants, to participate in Techstars 2019 accelerator and now one of . J.P. Morgan’s ‘Top 200 Female Powered Businesses’.
Our purpose as an organisation is to turn learning into a magical game for children around the world, and we are looking for ambitious individuals who will help us get there.
Banjo Robinson is committed to building a diverse team of cats. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
To succeed in our goals, we know we need to be a place where a diverse mix of talented people want to come, to stay and do their best work.
The product
Banjo Robinson is a magical globetrotting cat who sends real, personalised letters and goodies to children, twice a month, from exciting destinations like the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, and the Northern Lights of Iceland.
The idea is that it’s a little bit like writing to Father Christmas, except all year round: kids write back to Banjo using the stationery and stickers provided and leave their replies under the sofa for overnight collection by ‘Cat Mail’. Letters are personalised with details about each child’s interests – their favourite food, hobbies etc., and more often than not, Banjo just happens to be best pals with their pet 😉
Customers sign up to our subscription service and their children receive letters through the post twice a month, along with fun colouring in activities, stickers for their wall map.
Benefits
Looking to pay a salary of £30-£35k depending on experience.

– Help figure out how to continue scaling our Shopify API integrations and implement those changes;

– Provide support and guidance to the wider team (i.e. feasibility, options, etc.) on matters technically related.
Key skills
– Familiarity with AWS and other VM/hosting platforms (i.e. Digital Ocean);
