The Cadasta Foundation is building a global platform to help marginalized communitiesand individuals document their rights and interests in land, property, andresources. We are seeking a Developer to help us continue to build out our opensource platform built on a variety of open source technologies, including Python,JavaScript, OpenDataKit and PostgreSQL.
As a member of a small team, the developer has the opportunity to influence and affect the development process beyond the code. Not only will you be building the platform, you’ll be able to contribute to organizational direction and have first hand access & influence at all levels of the organization. Flexibility and a willingness to chip in, collaborate, and learn are key in this role, but that doesn’t mean long hours or work outside your scope. Cadasta prides itself on being a welcoming, people-first environment that’s dedicated to healthy work-life balance.
Our ideal candidate for the developer position is not necessarily someone that knows every single coding language; rather, we’d like to hire an experienced developer with the ability to tackle a variety of technical development tasks, and that enjoys learning new technologies in a collaborative environment. We encourage diverse applicants with non-traditional development career paths to apply – in other words, we’re looking for the right person, not the right combination of buzz words. Traditionally underrepresented populations in tech such as women, People of Color, People with Disabilities, and LGBTQ+ people, etc, we strongly encourage you to apply! We primarily work remotely, so almost anyone, anywhere in the world is eligible.
