The Reading team is focused on increasing impact around the world by changing the way people consume Wikipedia. We have to bring design to the forefront of our product development for Wikipedia to thrive in the context modern product design. We are looking for someone who will cultivate design culture and ensure that our team is working towards a better experience for our readers.
Responsibilities
Guide the strategy for the future of reading experiences of Wikipedia
Maintain the style guide that articulates a consistent design language
Assist in production level design for web and apps
Be an enthusiastic leader, educator and mentor on user experience design. Advocate and evangelize for user centered design both within the Foundation and with our community of users
Stay current on trends in mobile and web user experience, bringing design ideas to the table that push the envelope
Guide ongoing user research and testing, and translate findings into actionable improvements
Cooperate and communicate seamlessly across groups
Commit to serving diverse communities worldwide with a focus on global south
