About Beam:
Beam was founded in 2012 by three engineers who recognized an opportunity to modernize the dental benefits industry through technology. Today, Beam Benefits is a digitally focused employee benefits company offering dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental health coverage. The company is transforming the $100+ billion ancillary benefits market with its leading dental insurance product, wide range of ancillary offerings, AI-driven underwriting, diverse distribution channels, and advanced, tech-enabled benefits administration and customer experience.

The Role:
Beam is hiring two Clinical Reviewers to support our expanding team. As the company continues to grow, clinical claims review and utilization management are becoming increasingly vital. The Clinical Reviewer will oversee claims throughout their lifecycle, evaluate claims that are not automatically processed, respond to inquiries from providers and members, and review x-rays, charts, and narratives to determine the clinical necessity of treatment plans. This role is key to helping Beam deliver world-class dental benefits by improving the quality and efficiency of our claims processes for both customers and internal teams.

What You Will Bring:
The ideal candidate is self-driven, flexible, and committed to improving operational performance. You possess strong knowledge of dental claims and clinical review, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record of enhancing processes. You excel in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and are eager to learn and adopt new technologies. Your clinical expertise enables you to evaluate treatment plans and review claims effectively, while your problem‑solving skills help you manage complex claim issues.

• Working in a dynamic, multifaceted business that supports customers across multiple employee benefits products and service channels
• Collaborating with a skilled and diverse team focused on continuous improvement

What You Will Do:
• Oversee claims from start to finish, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of claims that are not automatically adjudicated
• Review clinical documents—x-rays, charts, and narratives—to determine treatment necessity and effectiveness
• Evaluate provider and member inquiries about completed claims, including responding to provider feedback and clarifying coverage decisions
• Develop deep expertise in coverage rules and clinical requirements to enhance claims processes and operational efficiency
• Improve workflow efficiency within the clinical review function to optimize resources as the organization scales
• Partner with internal teams and external groups to support accurate claims review, issue resolution, and ongoing process improvements
• Perform additional duties as needed to support business goals

What Technical Skills Will Help You Be Successful:
• 5+ years of experience in insurance operations or clinical roles, ideally within dental insurance, clinical review, or dental-related fields
• Strong knowledge of dental insurance coding and claims processing with the ability to evaluate treatment plans
• Experience analyzing dental health information—including x-rays, charts, narratives, and history—to determine clinical necessity
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and claims in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail when evaluating clinical documentation and claims
• Experience with utilization management and clinical review processes
• Comfort with new technologies and the ability to quickly adopt new systems
• Self-motivated with a strong results orientation and a history of driving operational improvements
• Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams using digital tools and maximize in-person interactions where appropriate

Compensation:
$61,200 – $97,800 per year
