About us: We’re a funded team working on a really exciting predictive analytics platform for the film industry. In short we’re using big-data to help predict how much a movie will make before it’s even been made (check out our site for more info). We’ve also secured partnerships with some very large market research companies meaning that we have a completely unique and vast data set to play with.
What we’re looking for: A data scientist or an experienced coder (who could pick up data science skills) with a hackers mentality to join us full time who is interested in the film business and who will also be happy to travel to LA occasionally. We’re not interested in how old you are, what your qualifications are, or where you’re from; we’re only interested in you being able to do a damn good job and being passionate about film!
You will need to be knowledgable in the following:
- R or Python (in particular it’s big data tool sets) or Mathematica
- PHP
- Experience with multiple different types of database.
Nice to have skills but not essential:
- JavaScript/HTML5
- Experience writing scraper tools
- Experience doing twitter sentiment analysis
