In this position, you’ll answer calls for a client that provides payroll services for individuals in self-directed Medicaid programs. These programs allow Medicaid patients to hire the caregiver they prefer. The client ensures caregivers are paid for supporting their loved ones.
Contractors who begin certification between November 18 and December 9 can earn significant extra holiday income. See the Pay and Perks section for details.
Essential Functions:
• Answer incoming calls from patients and caregivers with compassion, providing information and addressing their questions.
• Assist with enrollment, applications, and system setup.
• Retrieve information to help with payroll-related questions.
• Use de-escalation skills when speaking with upset callers.
• Offer clear guidance to help resolve issues.
• Document relevant information and outcomes.
About You:
To support this client, you need at least one year of customer service experience, strong computer skills, and the ability to provide basic troubleshooting. You should also have:
• Empathy, patience, and a friendly attitude
• The ability to handle sensitive calls and calm emotional callers
• Strong listening skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• A quality-driven approach and commitment to first call resolution
• Confidence working with numbers and discussing payment matters
Home Office Requirements:
• A computer with: Windows 10 or 11, 8GB RAM, 6 CPUs, at least 500MB free storage, standard sound card, and current antivirus software
• Hardwired high-speed internet (Wi-Fi and satellite are not allowed)
• Dual monitors
• A USB noise-canceling headset
• A webcam for certification
Where NexRep Contracts:
NexRep contracts with individuals in 31 states. They do not currently contract in AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, ME, MN, MO, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT, WA, or WI. Contracting is not available outside the U.S.
Flexible Hours of Operation:
You select your own schedule using a self-scheduling platform, working within the client’s hours of Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET. Contractors must work at least 20 hours per week and should be available for some hours on Mondays and Fridays due to higher call volume. If you prefer fewer hours or cannot work those days, you may explore other NexRep opportunities.
Pay and Perks:
This remote role pays independent contractors $13 per hour. After you complete additional certification to handle more complex calls, you will receive a $250 bonus. This extra certification is expected in January 2025 but may change.
Contractors who start certification between November 18 and December 9 can earn extra holiday income. For each week from November 25 to December 21:
• Working 20–24 hours earns an extra $30
• Working 25–29 hours earns an extra $75
• Working 30 or more hours earns an extra $160
For example, working 20–24 hours each of the four weeks totals an extra $120, while working 30 or more hours each week totals $640, in addition to regular hourly pay.
