The Quality Assurance Coordinator delivers quality assurance and administrative support across all areas of quality, quality systems, and cold chain management, including sanitary transportation. The role requires working closely with key internal and external partners to drive improvements and enhance customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Senior FSQA Manager.
Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Support Mom’s Meals in maintaining compliance with FSMA Sanitary Transportation requirements.
• Perform internal audits to evaluate compliance, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
• Create and deliver food safety training programs for employees at all levels, promoting a strong food safety culture.
• Collaborate across operations, logistics, and supply chain teams to strengthen food safety initiatives.
• Work with Logistics and Tech Services to qualify new cold chain locations and help resolve nonconformities.
• Organize and summarize audit findings and recommend action plans to address gaps.
• Assist in reviewing complaint and temperature data related to finished products and storage facilities to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Lead and support root cause analysis efforts for investigating safety and quality issues.
• Ensure programs, policies, and procedures remain compliant and up to date.
• Analyze food safety data to identify trends, risks, and improvement areas.
• Assist Technical Services Management with data reporting, including KPIs and dashboards.
• Provide support on special projects for Technical Services as needed.
Required skills and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a science field or at least three years of experience in the food industry working with quality systems.
• Knowledge of HACCP food hazards, including microbiological, chemical, and physical risks.
• Familiarity with FSMA Sanitary Transportation requirements.
• Experience using Electronic Quality Management Systems.
• GFSI scheme training preferred (SQF, BRC, etc.).
• Strong initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong verbal communication abilities.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Solid writing skills, including grammar and proofreading.
• Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently when conducting audits.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Preferred skills and experience:
• Experience working in a food storage facility.
• Familiarity with FDA and USDA regulations.
• Experience with quality management or customer relationship management systems.
Physical requirements:
• Frequent use of hands to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, with regular reaching.
• Frequent standing, communicating, and listening.
• Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
• Adequate vision for job tasks, including peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to work in varying temperature environments, both hot and cold.
