Role
The Controller – US will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, accounting, and compliance for the US entity. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial controls while supporting business growth and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in corporate accounting, tax compliance, and financial management within a fast-paced technology or SaaS environment.
Your day to day

    • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Hands-on management of the month-end close process, financial statement preparation, advanced reconciliations and streamlining days-to-close processes.
    • Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting transactions. Prepare variance analyses, ensuring that accounting activities are well supported and documented.
    • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all transactions.
    • Strong understanding of ASC 842 will be helpful
    • Report the monthly, quarterly and annual results and reporting package to the parent company
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, as well as global reporting obligations.
    • Prepare the sales and use tax returns and the annual property tax reports.
    • Coordinate, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
    • Verify accuracy of commissions calculations and accounting treatment
    • Manage and control inventory levels of inventory in the US.
    • Accounting Operations & Internal Controls:
    • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain accounting system, revenue recognition, state and local tax, and property tax compliance.
    • Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
    • Implement and refine financial systems, processes, and policies to support growth and scalability.
    • Revenue Accounting and AR management:
    • Strong understanding of IFRS and US GAAP – understanding of ASC 606 will be helpful.
    • Experience with revenue recognition processes.
    • Experience with deferred revenue accounting.
    • AR management and collection experience.
    • Strategic Financial Leadership:
    • Partner with the CFO&COO and executive team to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to drive business decision-making.
    • Evaluate and enhance financial processes, automation, and technology adoption.
    • This position has the potential to grow into additional entities within Zadara Global finance and operations organization.
    • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a local accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Provide training and guidance on accounting principles, financial policies, and best practices.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.
What you bring

    • Availability to work off business hours to support global requirements when necessary.
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • CPA certification required (active).
    • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
    • 5 years of prior Controller experience preferred.
    • Prior experience in a technology or SaaS company preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
    • Experience with ERP systems and automation tools.
    • Extensive experience with NetSuite, including implementation, administration, and reporting.
    • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global organization, going through continuous change
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
    • Experience with legal contract review, and compliance management.
    • Experience managing purchasing/procurement teams.

$180,000 – $200,000 a year
Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors
