If you are interested in crafting the next generation of local news apps to provide critical news and weather information with a strong video focus to fanatical consumers across the US while working as part of a geographically diverse development team, Hearst TV Digital wants to hear from you. Our network of local apps, which rank in the ComScore Top 20 for native news apps in the US, are going through an exciting redesign and we’re looking to expand our seasoned team. This is an independent, direct contractor opportunity (headhunters/agencies need not apply) with flexible hours and the ability to work remote. We have offices in New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC.

About You:

-You like working in remote team environments, conversing over daily standups by audio/video and having real-time conversations on Slack with fellow developers and product team members

-You build and ship top grade native iOS applications that consumers love (bonus if you also have Android experience, but not necessary)

-You thrive on solving challenges and are always up to date on the best tools and techniques for the job

-You are excited about using the new Swift programming language

-You are passionate about media and journalism
