The engineering team at Help Scout is full of people dedicated to a wonderful experience for our 4,000+ customers in more than 60 countries. As a Continuous Integration Engineer, you bridge the gap between Ops and Engineering to implement tools that help us produce, deploy and troubleshoot our products more efficiently.

About the Role

• You’ll be the first member of the team dedicated to DevOps full-time, but you’ll be supported by an Ops team of three and Engineering team of thirteen. One of your most important projects will be to implement rock solid continuous integration and delivery environments.

• You’ll take ownership of the vagrant image(s) used by engineers and work on making sure it mirrors a production environment to the furthest extent possible.

• On a daily basis you’ll be working with the Ops team, coordinating environmental changes and improvements and playing an active role in future planning.

• Job number one is to proactively create tools that help the engineering team deliver faster and deploy high quality work. To that end, you’ll spend a lot of time building or implementing automation, diagnostic, troubleshooting and support tools.

• As a member of the Ops team, you’ll also participate in the on-call schedule, supporting your teammates and our customers when things go wrong.
