POSITION TITLE: Community Health Epidemiologist
LOCATION: Hybrid
POSITION END DATE: 6/30/2026
SALARY: $80,000 (plus benefits)

SUMMARY
The CDC Foundation is seeking a Community Health Epidemiologist to support the Office of Statistics and Evaluation (OSE) within the Bureau of Community Health & Prevention (BCHAP) at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. This role provides epidemiologic expertise for the Community Health Equity Initiative (CHEI) and programs within the Division of Community-based Prevention and Care (DCBPC). The position collaborates with staff across CHEI, the Office of Oral Health, and other DCBPC programs to address data, surveillance, and evaluation needs. Major responsibilities include performing literature reviews, assisting with survey development, analyzing clinical and population-based surveillance data, supporting program evaluations, creating reports and data communication materials, contributing to grant deliverables, and providing additional support as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• MPH in epidemiology or biostatistics
• Minimum of two years of relevant epidemiologic or related experience
• Solid understanding of epidemiologic study design and statistical methods
• Proficiency in SAS and/or R for data analysis
• Experience in survey design and data collection
• Experience planning and implementing program evaluations
• Experience developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards
• Knowledge of statistical methods such as multivariate linear and logistic regression
• Experience collecting public health program data and creating data collection tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supporting primary data collection efforts, including designing surveys, administering them, managing databases, and cleaning data
• Building and updating Tableau dashboards to meet program needs
• Helping develop and implement evaluation plans and analytic plans for the Office of Oral Health and other DCBPC programs
• Performing epidemiologic and statistical analyses in SAS and/or R using datasets such as hospital discharge data, mortality data, BRFSS, YRBS, YHS, and the Community Health Equity Survey
• Assisting program and epidemiology teams with grant activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
• Providing guidance to peer epidemiologists on statistical methods and analytic challenges
• Creating reports and data visualizations for diverse audiences
• Offering additional support for CHEI and DCBPC initiatives as needed

SPECIAL NOTES
This role supports a dynamic public health program, and responsibilities may shift based on evolving needs. Any changes in duties require written approval from both the CDC Foundation and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to ensure effective support of statewide public health priorities.

The position is currently hybrid, though the arrangement may be adjusted by the CDC Foundation if necessary.
